Company History:

ECM’s co-presidents Bert Lurch and Louis Burke have been in the medical field since the early 90’s. Each held positions ranging from medical records clerk to surgical billing manager. With years of experience shaping their knowledge of systems and procedures, both became aware of a major gap between providers’ services and their reimbursement. After completing additional courses in procedural coding, medical terminology, ICD 9 coding, and physician reimbursement, Bert and Louis teamed together to form E Central Medical Management in order to address this problem for providers. With it’s dedicated and knowledgeable staff, ECM is able to help providers reach their full income potential. Maintaining a steady, controlled growth, they are able to keep the ‘personal touch’ — consultations with their clients about any or all aspects of their practice and dedicated one-on-one service with ECM’s decision makers. Louis Burke
Louis Burke takes great pride in helping physicians improve their bottom line. Louis gained invaluable experience while working in a faculty practice setting, where he achieved the position of office supervisor. Managing an office with more than ten multi-specialty
surgeons, he learned that knowledge, diligence and genuine concern are key factors in the battle for proper reimbursement and improving office function. His passion is helping physicians to build the best practices they can by implementing systems and procedures
that ensure their reimbursements are maximized.They can take care of patients without worrying about the billing. Building close relationships with providers and their staffs, and improving their income, gives Mr. Burke (and ECM’s clients) a great deal of satisfaction.

Bert Lurch
Bert Lurch comes from a family full of healthcare loyalists, ranging from RNs to an HR Director. Following in their footsteps, Bert joined the healthcare workforce at North Shore/LIJ in the early 90’s. After moving up the ranks in this large organization, it was only a matter of time before he wanted to be part of a more centralized company. Building on
the experience and knowledge he acquired, Bert formed ECM. He now makes decisions that create positive growth for ECM and positive results for its clients. He continues to develop simple solutions to the often laborious processes of medical billing, making it possible for clients to reach their full income potential. He strives to serve the healthcare industry, from patients to providers, with true professionalism, dedication and integrity.
